Geneva Elise Barrett Childs
Born 5:35 am, 8/2. 8 lbs 1 oz.
She came about ~30 seconds after the water broke with no one in the room but a very surprised nurse (who'd just arrived), the doula, and me. The nurse was next to me, struggling to pull on her glove, cursing, maybe stressed. I was telling her to calm down, but then I looked down and saw my little girl's head, already out. I reached down and caught her as she was born into the world, and that was one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

that's a mighty fine looking baby! H & E, you guys look great as well. Gonna be a fun baby filled holiday Season this year.
Congratulations, you guys, from all of us. Janice and I both just sat marveling over the pictures and the truly great story that came along with it... Hayden, you are probably one of the few fathers who can truly claim that they did something useful during delivery! Congrats!

I saw Geneva's picture and thought - it's a baby Hayden (which is meant to be a compliment, really ;-p). Congrats to the whole family -- we miss you guys sooo much. Any thoughts on a road trip to NC??

Wow, it's my first time to put something on someones blog. I got a nano ipod thing for xmas and it's still in the box (those people don't really know me).....but I thought this is the way to say hi and welcome to the new little one.
