Li'l Sphere, born February 9, 2005 at approximately 7 pm.

My son weighed 8 lbs even and measured 21 inches. His mom thought she was having Braxton-Hicks contractions when I picked her up at work at 3 pm. We got to the birthing center at 5:30 pm and our boy was born at about 7 pm (I'm still not sure about the time). He had his umbilical cord wrapped twice around his neck, and his mom was going through labor incredibly fast, so she had to push him out as fast as possible. It took her all of four (maybe five) excruciatingly hard pushes. That was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen, and it all seemed like a dream for hours afterwards. We went home at 2 am.

Wow - everyone looks good! What a cutie.

Oh happy day! Dat kid is beyootiful, and photogenic, too. He's lucky to have two great parents as well. Kudos to the Childs (and the kid, too); your finest production to date. I wish you much quality sleep in the months ahead.

Boo-YAH! That's a good-lookin' Southern Boy, there.

Y'all keep him fed up with some grits, and don't forget the collards, either. Once he's done nursing, that is.

Welcome the the exciting world of parenting. Grab sleep when you can, and let us know if you need anything.

Cute kid, and as we have said previously, we are completely thrilled to know that Abe is now in the world, that he has the incredible luck to have you guys as parents and that Zach and he can host MEGA parties on the 9th in the years to come!!!

What a beautiful little baby boy,
He will be more fun than a Christmas toy.
We thought you might name him Bill or Joe or Sam.
We never thought of Abraham.
Abraham is a nice name if you don't yell it.
The trouble will be teaching him how to spell it.
He was born way down in the land of cotton.
Let's hope all those grandparents don't spoil him rotten.

Thanks, everyone! It's been an amazing experience so far, and the boy is only a week and a day old.
